Head out your door, saddle up, and get out on the trails on the nearby public land. Game Creek is a residential area about 15 minutes south of Jackson on the border of the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
The right for residents to have horses on the property is one of many benefits of ownership in this area. Another is the direct access to the Bridger-Teton, as well as the proximity of the Game Creek drainage, a recreation area much loved by bikers, hikers and and horseback riders.
Game Creek also wins popularity points in the Jackson Hole area for its relatively relaxed set of community regulations, which allow homeowners to keep their recreational “toys” – ATVs, horse trailers, snowmobile trailers and the like – on their land.
Parcels are unusually large — in the 4.5- to 15-acre range — and homeowners love the rolling terrain, the aspen and pine trees, the all-day sunshine and the beautiful sunsets. There’s a community water system, so residents don’t have to worry about digging wells. The main road is paved, and the others are covered in well-maintained gravel, which gives the development a nice rustic Western feel.
