Jackson Hole Snow Pack Up – Finally!

jackson hole snowGrowing up here, I have a hard time recalling a winter in which many of our big storms didn’t occur around the Christmas holiday. Unfortunately this was NOT one of those years. But, be that as it may, this recent storm cycle has certainly put a whole new spin on Valentine’s Day!

You don’t have to be a skier to appreciate snowy weather. We live in place where the possibilities for winter activity are extensive. However, whether it’s snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or reading a book next to a blazing fire, most of us can agree that it’s hard to get excited about winter, when frankly, the snow just hasn’t arrived….until NOW!

This last storm brought our season snow total at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort to 283 inches, which I can comfortably say, amounts to good coverage (finally!)–no longer does every turn incite fear of uncovering a rock with your skis! On an equally important note, I can also say that the energy around the valley is nearly palpable!

Even better…there’s more to come! The forecast is calling for another storm cycle to bring additional snow to the area throughout the coming week, which means by Friday, we will have even greater reason to celebrate! And for those of you who may have forgotten (or simply written off) Valentine’s Day, perhaps this will enkindle a new appreciation for the holiday.

Maybe you have a romantic dinner reservation for two, maybe you don’t. Either way, this Valentine’s Day, celebrate winter’s arrival–have a date with the snow and fall in love with Jackson Hole once again!
