On Monday, the entire Modern Family gang landed in Jackson, Wyo. to begin filming the Season 3 premiere.
Rico Rodriguez (Manny Delgado) was blown away by the beauty of Wyoming. “We just landed, and I can’t believe the scenery here,” Rico said.
As the cast and crew, numbering about 100 people, descended from their chartered plane, they received an enthusiastic welcoming from Mayor Mark Barron and the Jackson Police Department. “We’re thrilled to have this kind of publicity in Jackson Hole, but more importantly, to be able to show off our community to the world,” Barron said in welcome. “You don’t get to do that every day.”
The season premiere will be filmed at the Lost Creek Ranch. We can expect a lot of horses and “funniness” according to Rico, but the cast didn’t want to give away too much. “We’ve never seen our cast on horses or anything like that, and you know when Mitch and Cam try to become macho, it’s gonna be hilarious,” said co-producer Sally Young.
During their down time, the cast and crew might take a nack at some white water rafting. Mayor Barron has his own ideas for how to spend their breaks. “I hope they get time to come down to Cowboy bar, saddle up and have a sarsaparilla.”
Filming for the one hour season premiere starts Tuesday and will continue through Friday. The city of Jackson plans to throw a community event for the season premiere on September 21.
