Stilson Ranch is a family-friendly neighborhood with spectacular Teton views and convenient access to all of Jackson Hole’s amenities. Located on the west side of the Snake River, the property was originally owned by the Stilson family, who used it to grow hay and run cattle.

Jackson Hole Ski Corp purchased the ranch in 1997 and created a 28-lot subdivision. Many of the first homeowners were Jackson Hole Mountain Resort employees, because the resort’s owners offered them the first chance to reserve a lot during the development phase. Today Stilson remains one of the neighborhoods of choice year-round Jackson Hole residents.

Stilson lots range from 0.75 to 2.6 acres, and all but eight lots have been built on. Homes sizes run from about 2,500 square feet to 7,000, and the architecture includes Western rural and contemporary styles. Though the landscape in 1997 consisted of open fields irrigated for growing hay, the subdivision today features a nice mix of maturing aspen and spruce trees.

Many lots have water features. Several properties, for example, border a large pond, while on other lots, water flows through irriga¬tion ditches in the summer and early fall. Prosperity Ditch, which is among the oldest ranch irrigation ditches in Jackson Hole, flows near the entrance of Stilson, and one of the development’s streets – Prosperity Lane – is named after it.

Homeowners find Stilson be an ideal place to raise children. Wilson Elementary school, serving kindergarten through fifth grade, is within walking distance of homes. Stilson streets are private, and the subdivision connects in two places to the Teton County bike path system. The shops and restaurants in the Town of Wilson and along Teton Village Road are all convenient to Stilson Ranch, and it takes only 10 minutes to drive from the subdivision to downtown Jackson or Teton Village. In the winter, buses shuttle skiers and snowboarders from the parking area adjacent to Stilson Ranch to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Homeowners use mailboxes located near the subdivision entrance. Each lot has its own private well, and all lots are connected to a sewer line system that is hooked to the Aspens water and sewer network.
