Rafter J

Rafter J enjoys a unique history in the region of Jackson Hole. In 1978, Floyd King, Jerry Wilson and Chuck Luton purchased the 600 acre Arthur and Phyllis Brown Ranch and subdivided it into 360 lots of .25 to .5 acres in size each. It was the first PUD in the county. Sixty percent of the development was put into open space and the rest of the development was put into clustered homesites. The original lots started selling in 1979. The developer’s intent was to provide housing for the working families.
